چکیده
Abstract L-shaped resonant optical antennas (ROAs) are low-symmetry plasmonic nanostructures with the unique ability to show two tunable resonances in and near-infrared wavelength regions. The plasmon length of so-called longitudinal dipolar fundamental mode these asymmetric ROAs can be used as resonance building blocks design polarization-sensitive devices. This paper introduces numerically analyzes a novel L-shape ROAs. reported offers modes, i.e., bimodal antenna behavior high enhancement factor. These selectively excited by changing linear polarization angle. It is found that coupled ROA very small 2 nm gap width exhibits field enhancements 40 147.3 on scale $$\left|{E}_{TOT}\right|/\left|{E}_{IN}\right|$$ E TOT / IN for energy low resonance, respectively. obtained results analysis open new route multiple devices ultra-high easily integrated future nano-optical circuits operational frequencies.

Optical antennas integrated with concentric ring gratings: electric field enhancement and directional radiation.
We describe a means for improving the coupling of illumination to, and the collection of scattered radiation from, an optical antenna. This is achieved by integrating optical antennas with concentric ring gratings. Electromagnetic simulations demonstrate that the ring grating improves the coupling to the antenna, even if the incident illumination is focused by an aplanatic lens such as a micros...
متن کاملResonant optical antennas.
We have fabricated nanometer-scale gold dipole antennas designed to be resonant at optical frequencies. On resonance, strong field enhancement in the antenna feed gap leads to white-light supercontinuum generation. The antenna length at resonance is considerably shorter than one-half the wavelength of the incident light. This is in contradiction to classical antenna theory but in qualitative ac...

A full-interaction electromagnetic approach is applied to interpret the local- and far-field properties of AuAg alloy nanoplanets (i.e. a central cluster surrounded by small "satellite" clusters very close to its surface) fabricated in silica by ion implantation and ion irradiation techniques. Optical extinction spectroscopy reveals a large plasmon redshift which is dependent on the irradiation...
متن کاملAsymmetric Resonant Optical Cavities
A new and useful type of optical resonator has been proposed based on the principles of chaos [1]. The asymmetric resonant cavity (ARC) is an extension of the concept of spherical or cylindrical dielectric resonators which have high-Q ”whispering gallery” (WG) modes trapped by total internal reflection [2]. In the ARC such a cylinder or sphere is deformed substantially but in a smooth and conve...
متن کاملRole of surface plasmon polaritons and other waves in the radiation of resonant optical dipole antennas
The radiation of an electric dipole emitter can be drastically enhanced if the emitter is placed in the nano-gap of a metallic dipole antenna. By assuming that only surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) are excited on the antenna, we build up an intuitive pure-SPP model that is able to comprehensively predict the electromagnetic features of the antenna radiation, such as the total or radiative emis...
